Norwegian Constitution Day 2012-May-16

17th of May is Norwegian Constitution day and serves great importance to Norwegians around the world. Lithuania was no different and for this special occasion, The Royal Norwegian organized a reception on the 16th of May at Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva, where all of NLCC members were invited. 

H. E. Mr Leif Arne Ulland, The Ambassador of Norway to Lithuania gave a speech about how spectacular it is to see it being celebrated by the Norwegian business community in Lithuania which is going to be bigger and stronger each year.

Later, Dr. Vladas Lašas, CEO/Founder of Skubios Siuntos & UPS/Lithuania  which had been selected one of the seven Business for Peace Honourees for 2012 by the Award committee of Nobel Laureates gave a speech to all of the guests. The selected Honourees are "businesspersons who, through their own actions and commitments, promote socially responsible and ethical business practices in an outstanding way, and stand out as examples to others."  Dr. Vladas Lasas stressed the importance of social responsibility and ethchical practices in business.

No Norwegian Constitution Day is held without children and at Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva, boys from Ąžiuoliukas Music School honored both countries by singing national anthems of Norway and Lithuania. Later all of the guests had a delicious dinner which continued into a social event for all the people celebrating this day.

NLCC was honored to be invited to this event and would like to Thank everyone who participated and contributed to bringing some Norwegian spirit and joy to Lithuania.
