Business Lunch with the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania - Rimantas Sadzius

On Thursday, 29th of January, Nordic communities represented by Nordic Chambers were having exceptional business lunch. Entrepreneurs and business associatons met with the Minister of Finance R.Šadžius to discuss business and economy related topics. The meeting was also attended by the Swedish ambassadress Cecilia Ruthström-Ruin and Norway ambassador Dag Malmer Halvorsen.

The Minister highlited export trends, Lithuania’s macroeconomic indicators as well as properly reviewed main investors in Lithuania. What is interesting, more than 40 percent of total FDI during the last quarter of 2014was made by Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
The guests were introduced to the state budget for 2015and government funding priorities which reflected today’s topicalities. Significantly increased spendings to the defence, assignations to social security reforms, as well as economic development triggers and infrastructure – these were the main bulletpoins for the latest state budget.
Not forgetting the topic of the year – Euro, which was also listed in Minister’s agenda to discuss. Mr.Šadžius described the adoption of Euro as a smooth process and assured a number of opportunities, that business can expect for the future.
This has become a tradition to Nordic communities – unique opportunity to meet governmental authorities and represent its countries.
