History

The non profit association Norwegian-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce (NLCC) came to life as an initiative during a midsummer evening in 2008 where some business people were gathered at Thor Tinglum’s home.

At the 3 of February 2009, the Norwegian Ambassador held a meeting for representatives of the Norwegian business community, where it was concluded that the NLCC needed to be founded in short notice. It became a general consensus at this meeting that the NLCC should become a viable service institution for Norwegian and Lithuanian companies.

The main goal in establishing NLCC was to organize events and seminars for the Norwegian business. Furthermore, NLCC would have to unite all Norwegian businesses in Lithuania in one place, where they could interact, search for partners and do business together.

After busy weeks after the meeting in February, March 6, 2009 is noted as the founding day of the NLCC, when interim board of NLCC met at the Royal Norwegian Embassy and signed the founding papers of our Chamber.

The NLCC Founders are: Ulf Hallan, Kjetil Hanssen, Gunnvald Laukhammer, Nils-Kristian Midtveit, Per Skisaker, Thor Tinglum, and Vytautas Valaitis.
